Brown and grey are a bit depressing this time of year for many people with "seasonal affective disorder". The small amount of sun people get in the winter is often not enough as well.
I have often seen red cardinals in winter. One year we had 3 fluttering around the pine tree outside our window on Christmas Day!! What an up lifting feeling just watching them play!
