It’s not system pressure, it’s case pressure. The case is full of oil so nothing “flings off”. A two dollar, 3 psi grease seal is not really meant for that. It should be a fully contained seal as in bonded from lip to outer diameter .
Because of the very small outer diameter compared to the inner diameter it’s a very hard seal to source. If the original is not leaking, it is a far superior seal to what you will get in a new kit. Unless you somehow luck into an original NOS kit.
