More than likely, if It was a 16HP it was either a Deere 300 or 316 Kohler with a Brantly Backhoe, which Deere called a 330 backhoe By the time the 316 Onan came along, which was a 16 HP engine originally, the only backhoe marketed for it was Kwik-way There was also a compact 16 HP 655 (Deere built at a Horricon, WI) or 17 HP 650 (Yanmar/Deere joint built In Japan), which a Bradco Backhoe could have been used on the Bradco was really made for the small to Large frame compacts.
