I did the real PS switch on my 1541 5 years ago. Well worth the expense and effort if you use a snow thrower. It was very hard to turn the wheel when the blower was lifted off the ground and the tractor was not moving. PS is not much of an advantage while cutting the grass.

I was lucky and got most of the parts used when prices were not crazy like they are now.
