Make sure the top radiator hose has the insulation on it. It will overheat if that is missing too. The cooling system on thr D600’# in the 782D and 1572 is at the edge of being good enough to keep the engine cool. Any little thing wrong can make them run hotter. They made the radiator thicker in the next series diesels. That started with the 1772.
