I'm wondering about this as well. I've been in contact with Rich about this split fan he developed. Looks to be two nuts / bolts and a clamp. Have to wonder how this thing holds up in general. Never thought about the balance issues you mention. Wonder if before putting this on if I'm better off just, at least for now, using mine that has 2 broken blades? I'm also a bit concerned about the integrity of the fan itself since part of it had to be chopped away (besides being cut in half).
