Looking for a little guidance/suggestions on fabricating some El-brackets for my 1450 gas tank heat deflector brackets.
A few years ago the original brackets that are spot welded to the heat shield broke from vibration so I drilled out the spot welds and attached El-brackets to the tank straps. Problem solved so I thought. During the first season those brackets broke also. Maybe the steel was not heavy enough?
So I'm wondering if anyone else as dealt with this successfully. and what did you use for the new brackets.
