Long story short, went to a flea market today. Guy there had this Cub Cadet for sale. He was unsure what it was, I have determined it to be a 1963 70 with a dull pink paint job.
The story i got is that it was painted up for someone's daughter to use as a puller. Things didn't quite work out and it ended up sitting. The paint, which was originally orange, faded into the dull pink that it is now. The underside of the hood, gas tank, etc still show the original shade of orange. In accordance with the color, I have given it the nickname "pinkie"
I talked to the guy about old Cubs for a while. He was a real nice guy, and at the end of it he let me have it for $200 instead of the $275 he had on the price tag. Said he was glad to see someone young who likes these old machines

the good:
-engine (Kohler k161) runs good
-tractor is overall in very good shape, very little rust
-clutch seems strong
-nothing is missing other than the PTO control linkage
-hood is in really good shape
-original tires are still in good shape
-steering works very nicely
the bad:
-engine might need a head gasket, further diagnosis required
-air filter is crushed, will need replaced
-paint is not great
other than that seems like a pretty decent little machine. There's still CC yellow underneath the orange/pink paint, might have to see if I can remove it and re-expose the original yellow.
