Back when battery powered tools appeared they were powered by nickle-cadmium batterys that did a so-so job. But then lithium-ion batterys came along and provide more power and last longer on a charge. So I got myself some Milwaukee tools that use their M18 batterys and I am quite pleased. with their performance.
But I've still got a few of those 18 volt ni-cad tools laying around that work fine but the battery packs for them wont hold a charge and are obsolete and unavailable. I didn't want to just trash the tools.
I discovered this item on eBay that fits the Milwaukee M18 battery for $15 bucks and adapted my old tools to take the M18 battery. It works great and the old tools work better than when new.
