In the event of low oil pressure, the engine does not shut down on these. The light on a 1811 and newer is a nice addition, but I went a step further on my tractors. I added a mechanical oil pressure gauge made by Stewart Warner. That way you know exactly where the pressure is and if there is an issue that otherwise would be unknown with a lamp that illuminates at 5 psi or less.
