Default Speed Lever and Throttle Lever Walking

Hey everyone!

Glad to be here. I just bought myself a IH 782 and am loving the heck out it.

I am about 5 mows of a 4 acre lot in to its ownership and am having some issues. I downloaded the manual, but it does not list how to fix these issues.

First, the throttle lever. When I bring it out of N, if I let go of the lever it will start walking itself up to the fastest setting within a couple of seconds. So basically I have to drive with one hand on the wheel and one hand constantly keeping the throttle lever at the desired speed. How do I go about tightening this lever? I know there is a speed detent which helps not bring the lever above a certain speed, but I just want this thing to sit still and not move while I'm trying to mow.

Second, the throttle lever will not stay at full power (rabbit). I push it up to full power and it will immediately drop to half power. Is the throttle line too tight? I opened the hood tried adjusting the tightness on some of the nuts, but to no avail.

Can anybody give me some advice here?

Gonna restore it to its former beauty, so I'll keep ya'll updated!

Thank you!
