Every thing is back to normal! I cranked it up later in the day and it is charging correctly. I had to use jumper cables the first time I cranked it and that is when the problem began. I read somewhere that a generator motor will correct itself when the generator goes from the starter mode to the generator mode. That seems to be what happened. I used it again this morning and it is charging correctly. Thanks to everyone who tried to help me.
