To take Ironman's side ....
It's an easy to get part that is not expensive. You could spend your time with other tinkering or repairs.
On your side....
You've received numerous ideas on a repair. How you wish to proceed is up to you.

Certain parts are extremely hard to come by or "wallet busting" expensive if they can be found. It's my opinion that those are the ones you spend the extra effort into finding or rebuilding.
