Do yourself a favor and change the oil by-pass spring and install an oil pressure gauge on the tractor. I didn't change the spring and the engine ran with only about 20 psi @ 3500 rpm (okay but on the low side). For now I stretched it until I make another order from Onan and I'm running about 30 psi.
Hey Oak, Thanks for the advice!... SO I'm finally to the point of putting my 982 back together! and as I'm putting everything back on Your comment popped into my head... is there a document somewhere on how to put an Oil pressure gauge on an Onan?
