You tried to repaint over clear from the day before? Was this 2k paint? Dry enough or not... Can't paint over clear. But you said you sanded back down so clear should have either been dry enough or if not sanded off. If you painted and had a problem with 2k the time to fix was before clear went down. If it was the clear you had an issue with most clear issues can be fixed on first cut in with the wheel.
