Not necessarily. In a different modular system, 1 plus 2 could be 0 mod three. Modular arithmetic is sometimes used by computer programmers when writing algorithms or it can be used in abstract algebra for various other applications or uses. Of course, there is also different bases that we could get into, as well. So 3 could be 11 base two, or it could be 10 base three.

By the way, great haul on your carts!!! Looks like you got a really good deal on them and they appear to be in great shape.
