Thanks Alvy.
So I started at the source, and tested straight off the battery + lug on the solenoid. Turn to start and it dropped immediately. Tried again, and it clicked. Tried a few more times, kept clicking. So I connected the battery to the starter (it was disconnected for diagnosis) and tried, nothing. Checked voltage it was dropping again. Disconnected the starter to see if that was the issue, still nothing.
Then it started doing it with the key on run and start. Shut the key off and right back up to 12v. Turned it a few times and went back to acting up on ignition. A few more clicks, back to low voltage on run or start, spikes back up when key is off.
Tested straight off the battery just for giggles and consistent 12+v regardless of key position (which makes sense). So the draw occurs between the battery cable and the solenoid if I'm thinking correctly. Or perhaps the switch is bad, as it only happens when turning it. I found it odd it was causing an issue with it on run and start.
Perhaps this gremlin is what was burning my coils too?
