Yes, the IH planter will of coarse do corn and beans. Likely other "large seed" crops. Radishes, carrots, lettuce, I plant all that with a little Earthway planter. I only put out like one row each of those small seed crops, when I do plant them, so it isn't worth the time and effort to load up a bigger planter. I never could get good population with the Earthway on corn and beans. I got a really good stand (with good population) of beans with the Brinly last year, but wasn't happy with the seed placement, or uniformity of depth. Corn, the Brinly did horrible on seed spacing and depth. Too deep, too shallow, plant 4 in 5" then nothing for 13". Since I rotary hoe and cultivate the crop (with the Cubs) I need a high population to make up for any loss using those tools, and need the stand to be uniform so that it canopy's fast. I can only cultivate until the crop is so tall because the CC's sit so low, so I need them to canopy quickly. In the "bare" spots, the weeds grow and then I have to weed by hand. On that large of a garden, I don't have the time it takes to hand weed. I would have to spend everyday out there just weeding if I didn't have the CC's! I do enjoy my garden. Even if it is just for fun, and to play "farmer" with a GT!
