Is it an optical illusion or does your hydro pump sit on top of the flat boss that is cast into the gear case, toward the rear of the pump? The boss on my gear case looks taller, or the pump is different, or something. Or it's just the angle of your picture.
Your install looks great! Any other advice you might offer to me as I'm trying to figure this out?
