Finally had a break from storm and leaf cleanup yesterday and started the wood stove in the barn. Got it up over 60 degrees and got the hood painted. Last painting of the season. I want to get the decals installed. I have installed many decals over the years but these original decals for the hood are a tad different. It looks like some of the letters are separate, for example C U B and C A D E T are all individual. It also looks like the I for international is separated from _nternational.
Usually I spray the area good with a mix of water and soap detergent so I can move things around and get bubbles out. I usually apply the decal then pull the backer off slowly while everything is still wet and then work out any wrinkles or bubbles. If I do that with these I risk the individual letters moving. Has anyone ever tried leaving the backing on until everything is dry and them wetting it good to remove?
What do you guys do to get the best results?
Thanks
Bill
