If it pulled the threads or broke. Don't be scared of Heli-coil in aluminum. I have done it many times. USE a torque wrench and you will be fine. I know it's a long video, but it backs my point. For the $$ in this situation and installed properly, nothing beats it. I add a smear of jb-weld or red loctite to the threads when I install the insert, let it dry and chase it for good measure.
