Cub Cadet still does carry a lot of the mechanical pieces for these old machines. Not all, but a lot. Some of the pieces no longer available can be found through aftermarket sources. There are members here on OCC that make a lot of parts.
Your 71 looks good! The rear rims are on backwards though...the dish should face out.
