Do you have compressed air, air compressor? Just blow the engine clean first to see if you can get it good enough that way. If not, just remember, "most" times the points get wet, and will need attention, also the water can make bare metal rust pretty fast...
Are you pulling the head gasket? Would be a good time to de-carb the head.  Good luck.

Absolutely. I used compressed air to clear it out. I have a full gasket kit for the engine. I don't want to get in and do a rebuild, but I do plan on replacing the head gasket for sure.
