They don't look stupid. They serve a purpose. My 124 has them and also wheel weights and the tires are filled. I use it to pull my plugger and other lawn stuff. Although they were on it when I bought the tractor.

I'm just not a fan of them, they make the rear so much wider than the front that it looks goofy to me. It's your tractor so as long as you're happy that's all that matters.
