Default 1782 Hydro Issues

Have a 1782 with a leaking Hydro and would like some advice.

During last season the tractor started accelerating on it's own. From half way or higher the speed control lever would just creep up to full speed on it's own. The higher the throttle the faster the creep. This spring I adjusted the speed control linkage but the only result was a very week reverse. Won't climb a slight incline in reverse. Still creeping in forward as before adjustment. I noticed a lot of hydro oil and dirt all over the rear so I power washed it good and see fluid just pouring out of somewhere up high on the unit behind the filter/ valve housing. I'm intimidated by this and wondering if I should attempt a repair myself or seek a qualified individual to assist. Any suggestions or service recommendations welcome. Paul

Also any good treads I can read to begin to understand what I'm working with?
