I wanted to thank everyone here for there help! Sorry for the hiatus, right after picking up the Vanguard engine everyone in my house got really sick and then I got busy at work.
So long story short. I was able to get the Vanguard engine installed in my 582 using a 3 pin drive plate that has the alignment bearing installed. Along with that I purchased an adapter plate that also made-up the difference in length so the front PTO lines up. (I can take some pictures if there is an interest)
The wiring was pretty straight forward (except everything is one the wrong side) with the exception of the fuel solenoid (just learned what that was after trying to start the new engine with no success) The choke cable was long enough but the throttle cable was way too short (hopefully will get a longer one today).
