Got leaky back together and test ran it, looks like it's happy at least for now. Someone replaced the rear seal and managed to nick the crank where the seal rides.
Cleaned it up the best that I could, put the new seal in and crossed my fingers. So far it's OK but if it starts to leak I may have to see if I can get a repair sleeve.
