If the rod that is attached to the button is worn out, I'm not sure if it can be removed for repair or not. Never tried. If the notch that the rod goes in is worn, it will be a lot of work to get to it to repair. Either way, sounds like your going to have some work cut out for you to repair it. If we are talking about the same parts.
