You talk about wear on the lever.... post a pic and let's see what your talking about. Your terms don't make much sense.

Yea, I am a little confused myself. Can't post pictures, so, the lever on the left of the console has a button to push down to disengage from a notch in the bracket that holds it. The pin, for lack of a better word, that engages the notch is badly worn and also twists enough that it will not keep the pto disengaged. I also have to hold the lever back to start the tractor. I now remember that there is a take up or adjustment in the rod that runs to the pto, I never thought about it before. I will try that next.
