Yes, there are narrow rims available out there. In fact, some of the models came stock with those rims, like the originals, the 70's (I have a model 73 with the narrow rims). I also have narrow tri-rib tires on narrow rims on my 123 and really like the looks & performance of them!! If you are cutting grass, the narrow tri ribs don't compact the grass before the blades get to it, causing uneven stripes, like the wider front tires do. They also make narrow ag tires for the fronts --I just purchased a set this summer by Carlisle. I have seen a cheap set of narrow tri-ribs go for about $24/pair and a higher quality set for about $50/pair. Sometimes, you can find a reconditioned set of rims, already painted up, with a brand new set of tires already mounted on them for about $100. Hope this helps you out some.
