They are probably stronger and keep the steering tighter longer than the factory ones.

I don't know what they cost, but if the original ones lasted 50 years, and only cost half of what heim joints cost, are they worth the money?

Check the length of the new joints compared to the factory ones, you will probably find that the new joints are shorter and you can only get a couple of threads on each end.
