Default LT1042 rear wheels will not move freely

I purchased a LT1042 about 8-9 yrs ago and used it for 3 Louisiana summers before storing it for the last 5 years. I'm assuming the issue has do do with the long term storage as it has only 83 hrs logged and was running fine prior to it being stored. After a recent move to SC, a large yard, and springtime upon us, i pulled out the CC to tune it up for the season only to realize that the rear wheels are locked and will not move. The wheels will not move freely with the hydrostatic bypass engaged into neutral. The bypass actuator lever/linkage looks to have the correct throw and all other linkages, including the brake, look to work properly. I came across a LT1042 parts manual that stated 'IF' you're transmission has a drain plug...apparently mine does not as it should be located directly under the actuator lever. I assume the drain plug is incorporated into he higher end Series 1000 models and not the base LT1042. I currently have the rear end jacked off the ground and the wheels move freely simultaneously in opposite directions.

The rear wheels being locked was a real problem when trying to load this beast into a 26' Uhaul for the move! To add insult to 'literal' injury, the front tire was flat, my air compressors were already buried behind 15' of accumulated treasures, and i had to load it by myself....

Ive found limited information here and through other sources regarding this issue. Any thoughts or guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe
