As far as chucking the adapter from the 1864 up in the lathe, I have a different idea that may work better. But all of our tooling is inserted carbide, we cut hard weld, aluminum bronze, titanium, whatever.
But cutting out (2) plates on the waterjet, to sandwich the plastic fan may be a better idea. The O.D. of the plates can match the I.D of the fan recess, then just use the bolt pattern to keep it all concentric.
The fan shown is the one off of the 1772, drive shaft. The bolt circle on it is smaller than the 1864 adapter bolt circle.
The drive shaft I bought from the 1864, did not come with a fan.

Sams adapter flange should be the same distance from the end of the pump shaft to the adapter face. However it has longer splines to engage the whole pump shaft unlike the stock adapter, and the flange on Sams is thicker so it can be threaded unlike the stock setup.
