Launch Failure
I started rebuilding a 1650 in October of last year. I took it completely apart, sand-blasted everything, acid washed, epoxy primer, cub cadet paints, new hardware, and replaced everything that was worn. Tonight I finished the re-assembly and started it up. I drove it for about a minute, tested forward and reverse, and the drive shaft started to wobble at the rear end. It jumped around and broke the blades off my new plastic fan and poked a hole in a hydraulic tube. I shut it down to check it out and fluid started coming from the pump shaft input. I grabbed the shaft and I can move the input shaft to pump around. You can probably understand that I am really unhappy right now. So what this this sound like to you folks - a pump seal? a total pump rebuild? or just go on eBay and buy a used one?
Thanks for your help.
Mike
