1. Is it as straight forward as it seems?
2. The part is close to $400 from the dealer. I find used on eBay for $125. I find a new one on eBay for $180 from High Torque Series. I am not familiar with them. Any recommendations when it comes to their parts?

I was looking at simply listing the tractor on Craigslist for $2-300 and getting rid of it. But if I can do the job for a couple hundred dollars, I may just fix it. Then I am not sure what I will do with it, but at least it is running well and the PTO would be working. The engine covers are not in great shape so it isn't the prettiest tractor.

Thanks for your help, guys.
If you were closer to me I'd suggest selling it but you're too far away for that so might as well fix it

It is pretty straightforward to do. Slide over shaft, bolt on, and plug in the wiring harness. Violla, done.

As for which one to get, Sam should be along shortly to suggest the best place to source the part. He buys them from an eBay store but I can't remember what it is at the moment.

Good luck!
