There was a guy on here recently that tried to put a CH in a 582 and had to do quite a bit of work to get it to work. I didn't think it looked like a big deal.... but I have a lot of experience. Anyway... No real good "direct swap" out there for it, but yes, you can repower.

Jon, how does oil start to spill into the carb when a seat comes loose? Wouldn't that just cause it to loose compression? I worked on a mower that the seat came out and it was making it so the valve wouldn't go back in, so it didn't have any compression.
