These things are not all that difficult to fix. The ball broke on my 71. Lined it back up and welded it on the inside then took a washer and notched it to fit over the ridges on the inside of the ball and welded that to the ball and the lever so that it is now connected in 2 places. Someone like Jeff with a TIG welder could make it look like a factory job. I was having trouble getting the MIG gun inside the ball enough to do a decent job. Not pretty but if it breaks something more important is coming with it.
