Arkansas Basket Case Cub Cadet 1512
I've acquired a cub cadet 1512 from a friend who didn't have any use from it anymore. When I received it, had been sitting for about 7 years under a tarp. There were issues that needed to be fixed in order for it to get running. So I spent some money to get it running at a local dealership in Wisconsin. The Kubota D600 only had about 800 hours on it. She ran great for the first year I had in in 2011. She cut the yard in about 20 minutes and plowed the snow in no time flat, beating all the neighbors with their snow blowers. This machine was a beast and I was very impressed with the diesel engine. After taking a job in Elk Grove Village IL, I relocated it to a rental property. In the Spring of 2013, the creek next to the house flooded, submerging the CC in about 5 ft of water. It took a week for the water to subside and get the tractor out of there. I moved the tractor to a friends house until I could figure out what to do with it. It sat there under a tarp, outside next to the garage. In the spring of 2013, I relocated to Arkansas. I brought the tractor down with me the following December in the hopes of rebuilding it to see it run in all its glory again. I asked my neighbor and friend of 10 years to help me rebuild it. After bringing it over to his garage for inspection, we disassembled it down to the block to find water still in the oil. He's since taken on other projects and has no interest in helping me with the Cub. It's since been returned to my shed, disassembled, and in need of repair and assembly. I've rebuild the rear end, but I'm afraid that the Kubota engine has suffered some issues from sitting so long in disrepair, in the winter with water in the oil. So I'm on here to: 1) To ask you if you think this tractor is too far gone to put it back together 2) Would it be better to part this tractor out, 3) Find someone that is local who has the knowledge to reassemble and trouble shoot any problems for this model. I am attached to my Cub, but need to make a game plan for it if I'm going to keep it. I'm sure there are other questions that I'm leaving out, but this is a good start. Let me know what you guys think.
Cheers!
Jon
