Snow Squall watch
Issued at 10:49 a.m. EST Tuesday 6 January 2015
Summary
Westerly winds continue to generate snow squalls for areas east of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay. A cold front will pass through southern Ontario tonight bringing even colder conditions and northwest winds. These northwest winds will cause the snow squalls to shift to areas southeast of Lake Huron and Georgian Bay starting tonight and continuing through the day on Wednesday. For areas such as London, Strathroy and St. Thomas, the greatest threat for snow squalls will begin Wednesday morning and persist throughout the day. Snowfall accumulations of 10 to 20 cm per 12 hours are likely under the heaviest snow squalls, especially if the squalls lock in place. In addition, gusty northwest winds will result in very poor visibility due to blowing snow.
