Just to update
First: I tried another brand new pin in the brand new driveshaft through the brand new coupler and it still fell out. I ended up putting a bolt in there. I hated to do that, but I needed it to mow.
Second: I was never able to find my timing marks. I looked through the half-moon hole on the right side by the s/g and never saw it. I bet I spun the motor 5 times looking for them. I did check the gap on the points and opened them up to .020. I also put in a new Autolite plug w/ a new plug wire.
Whatever I did made a difference. I was actually able to mow this afternoon without a hitch.
