Jimbob you must be a brute with your chains. LOL I've used the same set of chains for the past 20+ years and have never broken them or had to repair them.

I will say two things: first, I've never had a set of NEW chains, all have been second hand so who knows how they were treated prior to me. Second, I am probably pretty rough on the chains as I try to push quite large piles until I start to spin

That, and in one lane of where I plow, it is usually nothing but ice so I have to push until I get traction. I suppose a new set of chains wouldn't be a bad idea sooner rather than later
