Do you not get better paint life if "quart or gallon" type paint were used?
I typically only use a spray can for a little bracket, or a low wear item, or something that will never be out in the sunlight.

I agree that it won't last as long but it also is not going to be doing anything. No cutting of the grass for it. It's just for looks.
