I'm going to say this only because it hasn't been mentioned yet and because no matter how much mechanical work we do we can all make mistakes or overlook things. 
 
If you haven't done it already, check to see if the locking collar for the bearing is positioned on the back of the bearing inner race in the unlocked position yet all the way up so that it is as close to the back of the bearing as possible. If the locking collar is turned the wrong way and not setting on the shoulder of the inner race it could be holding the bearing out a good little bit.
