These people usually make me sick and then I appreciate that they share their ideas with pictures.
That cardboard paint stopper is an excellent idea and seemed to work well. I've used paper towels and tape before so I could get the thin paper down as much as possible between the rim and tire but I think the cardboard is adequate and much easier to work with. Thanks for the picture Sam.
Do you let the air out of the tire so you can position the cardboard easier?

I'm also pleased to see how well this is coming out with just rattle cans! When you find a place that sells the paint you are using could you please offer up a link. I would like to purchase some white and yellow for my 73 since that is going to get an overhaul this winter.

Took the valve cores out of the tires and broke the beads so it's easy to push the tire in to get the card board behind the flange of the rim. After the paint dries just slip the cardboard out and air the tire back up. These all had tubes so it's simple. Did the rears today and got them back on the tractor. Pulled the controls out of the dash tower so I can get started on it next. At least now I can roll it around. I'll try to get some pics later.
