Like J-Mech said....
Pull the engine and save yourself the two years of life you'll sacrifice from all the stress and aggravation!!! Besides, I'm sure you'll do more cleaning and inspecting once the engine is out. You should have it all back together by next Spring!!   Depending on how much cleaning and fixing you find. Good luck.
