Possible? Yes. Difficult? Very. If you don't have much time, keep at it and you'll get it. Remove tin, be patient and it'll come. Otherwise, just pull the engine. Its 6 bolts holding it to the frame, 4 for the drive shaft, plus a couple wires. And while its out, you can give it a good cleaning.
There's a page out there somewhere that more or less shows how to do it with it in the engine but I'm on my phone and don't want to look it up
