Default Original fuel bowl?

Our new to us Original, has a fuel leak at the glass fuel bowl after removing it for cleaning, it was not leaking before. I guess that's what I get for trying to properly maintain a 52 year old tractor. It HAD on it what looks like standard gasket material hand cut to make the gasket. I got out my roll of gasket material and cut a new gasket out and installed it and it still leaks. I cut another new gasket out, both were cut perfectly. This time I put High Tack sealer on both sides of the gasket, it still leaks. Is the original gasket made from a different material? Maybe rubber? Any ideas? Should I try to cut one out of a inner tube from a tire? I'm not sure if the new gas of today would eat the rubber or not? Thanks for any help or opinions.
