Default Cub Cadet 2072 Hydro

I recently purchased a 2072. It was not running and covered in oil, but the price was too good to pass and for some reason Cubs especially Supers are hard to come by here in NC. Spent the last couple of months taking it all apart, cleaning, repainting, replacing parts but after all that work, it's looking decent again and back to running condition. Only thing left is to figure out what exactly I'm going to do with it.

As I was taking it around for a spin, I noticed one small problem. When in neutral, the hydro has these surges which results in slight jerks. Nothing major and the tractor doesn't actually roll forward, just produces a slight jerk. This goes away completely once it's off neutral, and the tractor has no loss of power going up a hill, but I'm afraid it might be a sign of something going bad. My knee jerk reaction was that maybe there's some loose linkage so I took the tunnel cover off put it on stands and fired it up to see if there's movement of the trunnion when the surges occur, could not detect any. It had new oil, new filter and new gasket put in in the process, so other that, anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this?
