Default Electric fuel pump - 782

As I was trying to get the 782 running with its fuel problem. my brother-in-law insisted on me adding a cheap in-line fuel pump.

My problem ended up being a stuck needle in the carb, then a dirty gas tank.

I cleaned the carb and ordered a carb kit from NAPA.

It was at this point that I thought I need to replace the coil/points because it wouldn't start, but ended up just needed to clean out the gas tank (it didn't have a filter) and add an in-line filter. I got it running and cut the grass for the first time but it still had some problems like the needle got hot and would still get stuck.

So, the carb kit came in and at the same time I bought an electric pump. I replaced the falty needle (the chrome plating was flaking off) and installed the pump.

One thing I noticed was I didn't clean the original gas pump and it looked like it still had rust coming out of it.

I will say my biw was right. It runs great now with no issues so far.

Has anyone replaced their pump with an electric one?
