My 982 would have had to lap the clock at least once given the wear I am finding. My 2072 has some over 900 hours. I did run across a 1282 recently with over 4000 hours, I still don't believe it and I looked at it twice. If they are real hours the machine was used but not abused. The guy wanted $700 for it and it wouldn't run, I expect he'll be keeping it a while longer.

As for maintenance, we don't go by hours but by the calendar. We don't use them for severe duty or commercially. We change oil once or twice a year and change hydro filter at the beginning of the season. Grease it a couple times a year unless something on the deck needs it more often. Clean and replace the air filter as needed based on the conditions you are cutting, same for the blades. Everything else inspect and repair as needed.
